Chicago(PRWeb) January 18, 2007 -- Paul Trout, an author and a partner in sales and leadership effectiveness consulting firm Akina, is embarking on an innovative writing project. He will begin to write a book to show corporate executives how they can build buy-in on any issue within their companies.
Trout is approaching the project in an unusual way: he will collaborate with his readers in real-time and actively solicit case studies, stories and lessons learned on the topic of building buy-in from his audience and then incorporate them into a syndicated column.
The columns will be the basis for chapters of a book he will write. Experts on topics such as psychology, marketing and negotiation and industry leaders in the manufacturing, financial services, high-tech and legal industries will also contribute.
His new syndicated column, "Building Buy-In," will appear on MidwestBusiness.com, the Midwest's largest technology portal for news and information, as well as nearly 50 other Web sites, trade magazines and electronic newsletters.
In Jan. 2007, more than 300,000 people will be reading his column. His goal is to have 2 million readers by the end of 2007. The column will run for nearly two years and is currently scheduled to end in Nov. 2008. He hopes to publish his book shortly thereafter.
"One of the most critical factors of success in business is to possess the ability to develop a worthy idea and then successfully influence others to follow and act. Learning how to build buy-in is a skill in which few are trained but nearly every person's corporate vitality depends on," Trout said.
He added: "I'm excited at the prospect of combining the wisdom of my audience with the insights of corporate veterans and subject-matter experts. The product will be an invaluable guidebook to learn how to be much more effective within the corporate structure."
"Trout is a diligent and determined writer with expert and constructive contributions to share with our audience," said MidwestBusiness.com editor-in-chief Adam Fendelman. "He has an unadulterated and unwavering vision for this endeavor. We look forward to living it out with him."
